Create unique digital experiences
XP Layer is the standard Frontend & Integration Solution for your headless CMS.
Effective Content Management Without Technical Barriers
Our media clients typically use headless content management systems and face the challenge of designing the ‘head’ of their platform themselves. Often, developers need to manually adjust frontends (websites, apps, Alexa skills, etc.) whenever changes to the presentation of editorial content are required. Our XP Layer provides a smart solution by acting as an user interface between content creation and distribution. It enables platform operators to centrally manage and control the business logic of their channels without big developer effort.

Full Site Management
The foundation of our software is the underlying modular widget concept. To ensure that content creators, product, or channel managers don't have to start from scratch, we provide a proven StarterKit of widgets right from the start.
Low Code
You don't need to be a developer to set up or manage a new channel. Want to distribute your content via Google News or a new app? No problem – this is easily possible with the "Sitemanager" in XP Layer.
Easy Ad Management
While ad placements are often predefined in the template, with XP Layer, you can freely position your ads and, most importantly, tailor them to the channel. You can also easily deactivate or activate them on short notice. It’s up to you.
Flexible Modularity
White-label doesn’t mean “uniform.” XP Layer combines the benefits of a white-label solution for content portals and eliminates the perceived drawbacks with highly flexible and smart modularity, creating a seamless single-brand experience.
Intelligent Automation
You don’t need a large team to create engaging digital products. Our integrated automatic rules and filtering logics ensure that your portal remains dynamic and diverse for your users, with minimal editorial effort.
More Synergies
Want to quickly set up new pages – moving away from 'copy-paste' to intelligent logic? With our inheritance logic, you can easily use pre-built pages as blueprints or setup configurations in a global publication used by all other publications of your platform.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The term “Digital Experience” is widely used today. For ethinking, Digital Experience means enabling people from various fields of expertise to actively engage with digital software solutions. However, too often, digital work ends up in creating a ticket for the IT department and going through rounds of requirements and approvals.
Who hasn’t experienced this? An element on the company website needs to be repositioned, the ads need to be temporarily deactivated, or a list of articles should be updated. It could be done quickly if only it could be done without involving software developers.
With XP Layer, you add this Digital Experience to your platform – in the future, you can just do it all easily!
In short – the “head” is the “face” of the platform. It’s what the end user sees and interacts with. It could be the website or the app, for example. A headless platform no longer handles how content and data are displayed; it simply provides them via an interface, offering better opportunities to query them in the way website or app developers need.
This is necessary because distribution channels are becoming increasingly diverse. For example, while app developers can embed fragments of a website into their apps for display, Alexa-Skill developers for Amazon Echo devices cannot use HTML and JavaScript.
That’s why headless platforms deliver their content in JSON or XML format, and the devices read the data and take care of displaying it accordingly – as voice output, website, or app.
With XP Layer, you rely on a standardized content orchestration software that allows you to centrally manage the content of your platform across all channels and brands using different widgets. This includes not only text and images but also ad formats tailored to the respective distribution channels.
Agile work is now possible for all departments with XP Layer. Editors, product managers, and other stakeholders can centrally manage websites, apps, and other digital distribution channels. It orchestrates the content coming from the CMS, it integrates all the other services needed, for example ad tech, AI integrations, third party APIs and at the end it allows modular content delivery across multiple portfolio brands and channels.
This means that not only different CMS systems can be used in parallel as sources for your digital products, but also other external sources, such as microservices and special importers, can supply data for your distribution channels. XP Layer thus acts as a kind of “control center” for all the content of your digital products.
What content should be displayed, where, how, and when? XP Layer supports your departments with intelligent logics and a pre-built widget toolkit. Like a conductor in an orchestra, you ensure that a harmonious and successful outcome is created from various elements. The available widget toolkit ensures that all elements can be used as modules at various levels when designing distribution channels.
For example, an article text can be displayed as an individual module on a category page, no longer just part of the classic article. Images can be pulled out from articles into separate image galleries. Ads can be individually placed within a widget and activated or deactivated. If you want to test existing widgets, you can easily bring them live or take them offline with just a click – no complex rollout process needed.
Moreover, content can be automatically distributed in various ways through rules and filters – such as duplication filters, randomizers, or time-based scheduling. All these features can be used cross-channel with XP Layer, allowing you to orchestrate your content seamlessly across multiple brands and distribution channels.
With XP Layer, you can focus on your business goals and content without wasting time and money on technical challenges. The IT resources you free up can be used for the development of new, innovative products and features. When you implement XP Layer, you’re not opting out of your existing systems; instead, you’re ensuring greater agility: in the selection of your sources, in the design and management of your distribution channels, and in the development of your features, thus driving the evolution of your platform.
